We drove through the outskirts of Panama City. We planned on staying a couple of nights but decided to keep moving westward. It was raining cats and dogs. There was still a lot of hurricane damage that hasn’t been removed . Wind torn buildings and trees. Still a lot of devastation, however many of the campgrounds seem to be open. We are checking out Biloxi MS this weekend.
June 9 Coming through Alabama we stopped at a Bucky's gas station. The first one I’ve ever been in. It was huge and crazy busy. You’d think it was a tourist attraction with a continuous flow of people coming through the entrance. It seems they have everything for travelers from coffee to Bucky's shirts and pins. The parking lot was a mess as cars were coming from every which way. Over a hundred gas pumps. We parked way in the back with the rv towing and we’re too long for two spaces. NO RV parking spaces here.
We are also Affiliated ith many other businesses
Well it’s time to get back on the road and we a couple long days ahead just before we go, closing up the house for while we are gone. It’s quite a list. Reset the sprinklers for the yard and ground water. Drain the hot tub, walk the perimeter of the house for anything needing our attention, empty and turn off the deep freezer and clean out the fridge. Set the thermostat to a moderate temperature, unplug the tv and appliances, most anything with power to be protected during a storm. Turn of the water heater. Make arrangements for our neighbor to check/pick up our mail. If you live in a community with HOA, you can pay your dues in advance. We just have them paid automatically. Ask neighbors to keep an eye out on the house. Give our neighbor a key to come and walk through once in a while. Put a few lights on timers. Make sure our disaster kit is easily accessible for a maintenance person, i.e. hurricane boards and supplies in our case. The last item is to call the utilities and put them on ‘vacation’ status for while we are gone.
check out our new site
Impromptu meet up was put together by a follower and turned into a crowd . A great time was had by all in attendance, very anxious to see the turnout in San Antonio .Congratulations Robert on the amazing meet up in the middle of Miami. Pretty soon you'll need a fan club President for all the Pelican heads. Well have the crowds warmed up for you in San Antonio.
WE have take tours so far of phoenix Cruiser,Coachman, Grand design ,Newmar,Thor,Jayco and Nexus. Most would not allow photos but some did. Here are the photos so far of our trip to Elkhart,Indiana to do 9 factory RV tours , we still have 2 more to do .We were allowed to stay at the Coachman campground the entire time. We also went to RV supply houses in MI and drove to several cities . We have driven local over 400 miles to visit , tour factories ,Eat out , antique stores and flea markets
I will have to do a couple blogs to get all the photos. We are starting another web site of RV products we use in our RV and around our house and some other helpful links. we know there is a letter E missing from the new web site , By the time we realized it the site was live and to late and costly to change.
The site is still under construction, the hardest affiliate to get was the most important. Currently Walmart is Sweeping the country for curbside pick up of online orders for groceries . We tried it and its perfect , no more walking the big store.Anyway it will be a day before you can use our online page , but our amazon page with dry goods and rv supplies is live. BOOK MARK FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
WE CAME FOR A BIRDSEYE VIEW OF THE ASSEMBLY
We are going to do new owner orientations and felt we should understand the assembly process to give a better session at our Rallies. We sure have seen a lot so far. This is the Phoenix Cruiser they only build 7-9 a month.
Information you can use.
We are going to do a rally for rv education of new owners, Were gonna try to make it as reasonable as we can. We will secure a location and campsites . We put entertainment together and get a instructor for Rv tech session. We will secure a source to bring food. ya no one wants to cook for that many people after class. Perhaps we should have some Merchandise and maybe a drawing for stuff! Since the first one to ask were Concord Coachman owners, We shall be putting this together first for them and any one interested in a future rally is welcomed to contact us . e hope to find a vlogger who will attend and publish on youtube.
Stay tuned for future announcements.
