Today we are in South Fork, Colorado. We’ve been through Oklahoma City, We enjoyed seeing the Oklahoma Bombing Memorial, This is very moving memorial. We also visited the Myriad Botanical Gardens, and the Land Run Bronze statues, and walked part of Bricktown. Then we moved onward on Route 66 into New Mexico. We hiked the Capulin Volcano. Then onward to Colorado and had a great visit with my cousin I had not seen in many, many years. We are now in South Fork, Colorado, heading over the Rockies. A few photos of our current campground below.
Lake Texoma, Texas/Oklahoma border. After spending the 4th of July week with my family in Gainesville, we came up to Lake Texoma. We are at the Sheppard AFB Annex Family Campground. It’s located on the Texas side of Lake Texoma. This is a huge lake with water all around. A haven for boaters and fishermen. The campground re-opened on the 4th of July after the heavy rains and flooding back in May. Lots of day use areas also for those not camping or staying in the cabins. A few photos attached.
Did not get to post the Fort Worth Stockyards we visited earlier in the month. We’ve been busy visiting since leaving Fort Worth.
